COMPANY  GREEN DESIGN  MANUFACTURING  QUALITY

OVERVIEW
AyA Kitchens and Baths' commitment to sustainability is exemplified in EVO™, the leading component of AyA’s Green Design 2.0 initiative. AyA's EVO™ line of cabinetry contains no added urea formaldehyde for a healthier home environment. Throughout its business practices AyA Kitchens is continually striving to surpass environmental and health standards and help their customers create healthier environments, whether renovating a home or building LEED certified developments . AyA is proud to announce that their standard line of cabinetry has achieved certification from the KCMA Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP).

REDUCED WASTE
Both AyA’s standard line of cabinets as well as its new EVO™ line of no added urea formaldehyde cabinets are made from 100% recycled EPP certified (Environmentally Preferable Product) 100% post industrial wood fiber particleboard. AyA’s own recycling and waste reduction programs are cutting edge in the kitchen industry. AyA uses the latest computerized technology to optimize material utilization to keep waste to a minimum. Whatever waste is produced is extensively recycled and AyA has initiated a company wide energy conservation initiative with the goal of ongoing reductions of its carbon footprint.

WATER-BASED FINISHES
The industry standard for wood cabinetry is the use of solvent-based finishes. They are tried and true and are easy to work with. The down side is that they involve the use of harsh chemicals.

Since it’s inception AyA has always strived to be a leader in green design and has been working ahead to provide a better and safer product for our clients and our environment. After years of testing to ensure our quality would stay the same, AyA changed over our topcoat to a water-based finish in May 2014. Water-based finishes are safer, low-VOC and provide the same protective glossy finish as solvent-based finishes.

AyA is currently working on our wood stain finishes, which will all be switched over to water-base by the end of the first quarter of 2018. Our painted finishes will be all switched over to water-base by 2019. This voluntary switch to water-based finishes ensures AyA Kitchens is ahead of the curve and provides a superior and truly environmentally friendly product for our clients.

FOREST MANAGEMENT
Forest management ensures that the harvest of timber and non-timber products maintains the forest's biodiversity, productivity and ecological processes.

ENERGY CONSERVATION
AyA is an environmentally conscious company that takes pride in reduced waste and efficiency. It's a practice that started in our manufacturing facility and expanded into our building and offices. All of AyA’s lighting has been fitted with energy-efficent LED light bulbs. We’ve also removed fixtures which are not needed, reduced the amount of bulbs in each fixture and also reduced the amount of lights which are required to be on 24/7. AyA has added timed sensors in all restrooms to further reduce our energy consumption. .

COMMUNITY
AyA is committed to providing a quality product in a manner that ensures a safe and healthy workplace for our employees, contributes to a safe and healthy home for our customers and AyA prides itself in being an active member of its community. AyA has partnered with school woodworking programs by providing excess wood materials for student projects. AyA has been an active supporter of Habitat for Humanity and other community based initiatives.
